Why am I here?

I know, I know. What the world needs is one more blog. But this one is different. I plan to find things on the web that can be interpreted as supporting my political opinions, then post them, along with commentary which summarizes my knee-jerk reaction to the content, thus validating my views without the need to adequately weigh the information contained within.

Actually, I think that's been covered already.

For reals, not for fakes (like this embrace of hip millennial slang) though, Second City has just hired me to do improv and sketch comedy on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. I'll be gone for four months, so this'll be my prime way to communicate with the kind of people who read blogs.

More will come soon.

The mission now: buy suits, clothes, a snorkel, a whole passel of other crap, get banking shit taken care of so my girlfriend and I can pay our bills, see all the doctors I can while I still have my insurance from my current job, and generally go freaking nuts trying to get everything done before I hop on a plane December 9th.

In between then and now, I also have to finish out a sketch show, finish a script for a different job, do a couple more shows that I have booked, and learn an entire show worth of sketches for Second City. Brain hurt now.

That's how this all looks at the beginning. I've got a big list, and it's time to start crossing things off of it.

This is verbose for a blog that basically boils down to: "I haven't actually done anything interesting yet."
